Eye Exam

Periodic eye and vision examinations are an important part of preventive health care. Many eye and vision problems have no obvious signs or symptoms, so you might not know a problem exists. Early diagnosis and treatment of eye and vision problems can help prevent vision loss. Each patient's signs and symptoms, along with your doctor of optometry's professional judgment, will determine what tests are conducted. A comprehensive adult eye and vision examination may include but is not limited to, the following tests.

Contact Lens Fitting

Most people can wear contact lenses, even if they were told they couldn't in the past. We fit many types of contacts including bifocal, toric for astigmatism, gas-permeable, and new options that are being developed every year. Sometimes contact lenses can replace your reading glasses.

Diagnostic Testing

Which is better: 1 or 2? Determining the lens powers for your new glasses is not only a science, but an art as well. We use a combination of objective precision and careful patient collaboration to write a thoughtful spectacle Rx that will make your vision both clear and comfortable.

Pedriatic Eye Exam

A vision screening is a more efficient eye exam. A child is “screened” for eye problems and referred to an ophthalmologist for a comprehensive exam if needed.

Medically Necessary Contact Lens

Medically necessary contact lenses are non-elective contact lenses prescribed when certain medical conditions hinder vision correction through regular eyeglasses and contact lenses are the accepted standard of treatment. With some medical conditions, patients are unable to achieve a specified level of visual acuity or performance through regular eyeglasses. This results in the need for “medically necessary contact lenses.”
